Oh yeah. Here we go. I'm going to try to periodically pick a few winners from my digital photo archive and present them here... Taking a serious trippers down memory lane tonight, all the way back to summer of 2003. Here's me in Providence, RI, at my mother's house, the house I grew up in, photographed by my friend Kyle, whom I have known since 4th grade, whose mother is best-friends with my mother, etc:

Sporting some seriously crude facial hair style, hmmm... I am not sure where the reflective Stadium Club banner came from, but Kyle and I liked it (I guess we could relate to its message of never compromising). My facial expression was meant to really communicate the extreme unlikelihood of any sort of compromise. Out on the back porch I shared this stubborn stance with Betty, Kyle's mom (left) and my mom (middle):
Bonus shot below.. another photo taken by Kyle of my real life stadium club at the time, the "Providence Civic Center," the dank, concrete Olneyville warehouse that I and a few other intrepid young men called home for the summer, home to sick kittens, microwave burritos, drunk crusty Vlad smoking butts from ashtrays, leaks, plastic christmas trees, housepaint, and harsh noise:
Even deeper into the memory hole, I'm really feeling some strong, mysterious psychic associations from some ephemeral symbols..
(Fleer never had a striking logo; I think they changed fonts each year for the word 'Fleer' as it appeared on the front of the card. The name itself seems to be striking enough. "Fleer"... )
dude you know I am feelin this!!! that banner is amazing. also: "bowman"
"leaf" "fleer ULTRA"
Fleer...the worst set of cards, the most pale and ephemeral name....
woah.. was just thinking about oak&troy summer days. I've been missing the
fun and adventure. also, topps kicks ass all over upper deck. srsly, who
needs holograms on their baseball cards?
